Can't get "clean cut" edges on ANYTHING.

I'm making a GD portfolio for a Graphic Design Bachelor's program, anyway, today, for the first time, I can't get any "clean" edges/borders/lines, etc. All text's and shapes have really fuzzy edges and just look plain bad and I'm reallllllly frustrated. I have uninstalled and re-installed, deleted preferences and looked all over google for solutions to no avail. I included a picture with white blackground and black shapes so you can see what I'm talking about clearly. Any help would be much appreciated. Those last 3 random shapes are just me using the magnetic lasso tool then filling them in, even those are blurry and messed up. The text is times new roman.

I can see two possible issues here. First of all, turn off all feathering. The shapes on the left look feathered. Second, turn on anti-aliasing. The will help with the jagged bit.

If those don't help, post again.

Thanks for the reply. The only option that I can see feathering in is the marquee tools. Feather was already set to 0 px there, is that considered "off"? Is there a master control for feathering, because I can't find any other option to do so when I have the shapes or text selected. Anti-aliasing is greyed out, so I have no option to turn it on or off either and it also only appears on marquee tools.

Edit: Ahhhh! I figured it out *facepalm* The resolution was incorrect, for whatever reason, under image size, the resolution was set to 72, instead of the normal 300. Thanks for your help anyway!
