"Check Plugin" error

I have some ps files on an external firewire disk; I can open them if I open PS7 first, but if PS is not open and I double click on them I get a quick message at the top of the screen saying "Check Plugin" and PS7 doesn't open.
Any ideas?

Extra note: when I checked the file list on the external disc I found the files were labelled "CheckPlugin document" - any ideas?

Problem solved - I think; seems to have been a clash with Omnipage.
Rebuilding Desktop tidied the links.
