color overlay problem

Hello: I have a picture of a house. Two of the windows were not good, so I selected a good window and placed it on top of the 2 bad ones.

I then selected all the trim and windows and did a color overlay to change their color.

This seemed to work fine except when examining the replaced windows, there are areas of the window sash that are much darker. If I move the replacement window, the original window still has color. I really don't understand this - very confused.

The file is 9mg. I wish I could attach the file, but will list the layers and hope I am explaining myself well.

my layers are:

trim color selection & effects - color overlay
new window right
new window left
background layer

I did desaturate it. All the windows came out perfect except for the 2 replacements.

Any suggestions on how to post the file?

Here it is - It's the center window and the window to the right on the top floor. Notice the darker brown sash.

The file is DSC09353. There is another file named test that I do not know how to delete.

Oh - I see.
But all the color worked out perfect except for parts of those 2 windows. I tend to think I did something wrong when replacing the windows because the old windows beneath seem to be effecting the new windows.

I just can't understand why the window sash grill is darker than the frames and grills in other windows.
