I have a Lenovo PC running Windows 10. I have the Corel PaintShop Pro X9 Version 19.2.0.7 software, I believe this is the latest version.
Using the Corel ‘How to colorize black & white photos’ on-line guide, I have had a few very pleasing results, but now I’m running into a problem.
I have a photograph of my mother in, what is meant to be a very dark blue uniform. I have my materials foreground selected with RGB numbers13.7.71. I have selected ‘colour legacy’. Using the paint brush onto the uniform layer, it is painting a much lighter blue, the resulting RGB numbers are ranging from 53.53.118 to 117.137.202.
The first figures, 53.53.118 would be acceptable through the lighter areas, the fading to the 13.7.71 in the darker areas, but I can find no way to achieve this.
I also have small areas of skin tone and a red badge, these colours are painting fine, just minor shade changes that I understand.
Any advice will be gratefully received.
Please advise me as to how I can achieve the correct darker blue colour.
Many thanks
