Hi all,

So i'm trying to learn myself how to make a decent "make over" but now i could use some comment and or feedback from u guys.
The original picture was found on www.sxc.hu/.
So far i'm pretty satisfied about the result but i'm not a pro. i think the colours seem a little unnatural.
So what can i do to improve this one ??
Oh i did the face only.

Thanks

Nice softening of the model, IMO the two candles over her left shoulder is distracting, and also the right arm of someone in the B/G, clone them out and she should love it.

Nice work. The nose is a little too soft but the rest of the makeover is good.

For a real workout, make her blonde with green eyes. :D

Thanks guys for your comments !

I was nor sure what i was seeing in the face that made it look artaficial but indeed the nose is too soft.

Moth you made her look a real natural beauty :D

Heeheehee...

After you use the diffuse filter try Edit/Fade to adjust the effect. Skin that is too smooth looks fake. Also watch the edges of the nose, the eyes, and ears for too much softness. Otherwise, you can end up with someone with unfinished features. Masking helps.

I think softening the nose actually accentuated her features. I like it! We women like to look flattering. :) What did she think of it? I'll bet she likes it.

Hi there,

Moth thanks for your feedback !!
Never used the diffuse filter before, gives me something to try this afternoon.

I guess the softening of a picture depents of the project your working on and of course personal favour.

Sheba very cool that you like it !

I don,t know if she likes it, the photo was taken from a photostock maybe i should send her a link to this forum.

Cheers

Oh sorry, I skipped over the part where you got it off a stock site. 8} I have Selective Reading Disorder. :bustagut:

Hi Stanis You've got those tools humming. Usually when I over-soften a photo, to save time, I just pull the original unretouched photo onto a lower layer and play around with the opacity. Just to pull a bit of realism back into the picture.

I'm sure there are better ways but I not faster hehehe

I agree with nitro to remove all distracting background noise

Moth - you charmer you, nice smily blond!
