Converting psb files

Hi

I've designed some adverts for billboards, they are 8m wide...so the resulting image in Photoshop was over 30,000pixels and thus needed to be saved as a .psb file.

However the printer only accepts Jpegs or .pdfs.

Saving as option only gives me .tiff or .raw images as an option. I've tried opening in AI and saving / exporting as a .pdf or .ai file...but it returns an unexpected error every time.

Anyone any ideas how I can get this psb into pdf or jpeg!?

Many Thanks

Hello,
I think billboards are not being printed as one piece but in stripes, so you should be able to shrink resolution for some sample prints and separate stripes in high resolution for "real" prints. Or do I miss anything ?
Best regards,
Peter

Hi Peter

Many thanks, yes I realised I had the resolution set high enough for print (300dpi) whereas obviously being a large billboard I could reduce to 100dpi which brought me down under 30,000 pixels.
