Correcting Blurred Images ?

Hi, sorry for coming late but actually it was my merriage on 26th August ;\ Well got some pics of ma wedding, but some of them are blurry co'z of camera movement while he was taking those pics. And now I tried unsharp method + duplicate layer and set blending mode to overlay or soft light. It helps but not on very blurry pics [stuned] Any ideas or techniues will be appriciated , Thanx

HEY!! Congrats!! 8D 8D Someone posted a good technique about using the highpass filter. I use it regularly now. Or is that the one you are talking about? put highpass on 5 then edit>fade highpass and set it to overlay? Ultimately nothing will fix a terrbily blurred image, but I'm sure you know that.

I just mainly wanted to tell you CONGRATS!! WOO HOO! Do we get to see the pictures? [excited]

Motion blur is difficult to eliminate. I've used Focus Magic with some success. Could you post a sample and make it a challenge. We could all try out our various tricks and see who could come up with the best result.

I agree with Welles. I've tried many a times to correct blur, but it's very difficult. I only do it when its slighly blurred, but even then you lose alot of quality and detail.
 
Congrats!..good reason to not be around this place!...lol.
Can you post a picture let us have a shot at it...i remember a plugin that claimed cleaning up blurs..I'll see if I find it.

Hi lasa,

I own Focus Magic and have used it quite a bit but relatively seldom on motion blurs. We'd need a sample to really check out the results. It is quite a sophisticated bit of software.
 
Congratulations indeed. Hope your's will be as good as mine has been. The only real fix for a blurred image is time travel. Since we haven't nailed that yet,????????
 
I must differ with you... some of us actually receive inter-dimensional frequent flyers? redeemable as time travel vouchers, but subject to the usual required blah, blah .. ?Inquisition and/or Crusades? lay-over?and the normal ?big bang? and ?date of birth?, blackout dates?

But regardless it is time travel.

Thanx all 4 replies, I really Love u all, highpass works better ;) Just tried it. What do u mean by apply highpass 5 ? \:/ I duplicated the original layer and applied highpass on it and set the blending mode to overlay and it almost worked very well. Well about my wedding pics, I will post them as soon as I get some extra time ;) U know this was Love merriage. [honesty] So stay tuned .... Love ya all.

+ tell me is there any way to stop "scaning plugins" "scaning presets" ? so ps could load more faster ? \:/

You know, the original inquiry was about motion blurring but I don't see any in that image. A little camera blur, maybe. Here's a slightly sharpened version using Focus Magic with no special adjustment.
 
8} hehe, thnx 4 liking the pic btw that wasn't the blur image I was talking about it was just for show you guys. Anyway what about my last question ? thnx \:/
 
I suspect that Sheba's 5 refers to a 5 pixel radius. I use a similar High Pass technique but with a different approach. To me, suggesting a 5 radius isn't a universal approach because each image will differ and different resolutions make that figure increasingly doubtful. Here's how I go about it.

1. Duplicate the image to be sharpened in the layer's palette.
2. Run the High Pass filter on the duplicate layer.
3. Look at the edges of the image in the High Pass preview. Increase the resolution until you begin just begin to see hints of the image's colors. If you start seeing too much more than the edges you will be oversharpening the image. (A little experimenting will train your eye to see the best settings. Note that the radius setting will vary from one image to the next.)
4. Click OK
5. Change the blend mode of the layer to Overlay in the layer's palette. Remember that you can always change the opacity of the layer to knock down the effect. If you want to increase the sharpening, you can always duplicate the High Pass layer and adjust the opacity on that.

Well, I don't know. If you have plugins, they have to be scanned in order to populate the filter menu. I've heard of software which used to exist to 'manage plugins'. I rather doubt the cumulative time of using such would gain much...

About presets. Limit the number of presets you have installed at any one time and only load those you need in the Preset Manager. Again, though, if you are accustomed to having a great preset load as I normally do, messing around with the preset manager would take more time than letting the menus populate at startup.

How long is your startup taking anyway? Couldn't you just launch the app and then do something else for the minute or so it takes to load? \:/

Ahhh sorry I never got back to this thread, life's just crazy!? WELLES!!!! Why ya gotta bust my chops?? LOL? I didn't want to go into extreme details until I knew he already tried a similar approach.... telling me I'm all increasingly doubtful and stuff, making me cry.? :cry: I use 5 on every image I use, so there!? :P

Anyway, congrats on the new bride evil... she's so beautiful!! I hope all is well for you.? [excited]
