I searched a bit and found a few threads touching on this, just none getting my answer. Previously in PS CS 2017 I had no issue opening a mock up,
and then the correct Logo layer, editing the Logo layer and clicking save. Boom, job done.. nice n easy. It seems since I went to 2018 though I cant get
around this dang error no matter what I try! Please help!

Thanks for the reply!

I found that page and had read it over twice, when I go to save the 'Your Artwork Here' layer after editing it, it gives me
that error. :\ If I rename the Logo and save it, aka save as.. it doesn't apply to the mock up. What really sucks, I've made
plenty of these edits in the past, running 2017.. using the same method that keeps failing now. I updated to 2018 just
recently. I'm tempted to look into reverting back to see if it solves the issue!

Any other ideas would be a blessing though.. if they worked that is. Heh.

And thanks for the welcome as well.

I don't think this is specific to CC2018. It has happened to all versions. Note that the previous PSG thread was on CS6. I'm not exactly sure what's causing the problem yet, but give us a chance to see if we can figure it out.

Is this only happening with one file or all mockup related files using smart objects? What are your computer specs? There is a known bug in Mac OS involving the finder "Gallery" view. Just switch over to a "list" view and try to save.

All mockups I try to edit, when editing the "Your Logo Here" layer that loads the logo, lets you load yours, go to save.. error. :\

I have a PC, an I7, GTX 970, 32gb ram, 2tb HD, Win10... same system I was editing mock ups with last year all the time.
i'd just goto the red layer, 'your logo here' edit it, replace the image with my own, save and done. no errors. only real change
is the updates in PS :\

I found one reference to this problem as it relates to Win 10. Close all open pictures on windows then save.

So, i'd be closing the actual original mock up file, then going back to the logo being edited, then saving it.. then reopening the mock up?
I'll give that a try, thanks!

No..........just close any and all other image documents that you have open.

OK.

I've spent the entire day running down fixes for this problem and have come up empty handed. The problem seems to only exist within certain systems and you have been blessed. You may need to go back to 17 if no one else here can offer any further cures. I will keep looking though.

It might help to upload one of your mockups to see if we can reproduce the error.

Also..............have you checked over at Adobe Forums? Those guys should have an exact solution for this problem.
nah, Photoshop Gurus sounded cool, heh. Thanks for all your time though, i've done the same and always end up at a dead end, no good results.

I'll try the Adobe forums in the morning.

Thanks again!

For those who dont want to make an account, I had to update to the latest version that came out last month.. that kept failing, I then turned off my firewall & VS, the update went in, the problem was solved and i'm able to edit any mock up I want now.
