CS6 color image file shows in black and white

Re: cs6

What does Ps display the color mode of the image you open?

Look under IMAGE > MODE

Re: cs6

Sorry for the questions.......

What type file are you opening in Ps that has this problem?

Re: cs6

Check your Channels Panel. Go to > Channels > Click channels.

Make sure that all the channels are selected like this.....

If they are not, just click the RGB channel.

Re: cs6

Is this a file or image that you wouldn't mind posting?

Re: cs6

Happening with all images, if i open a Raw file it is in colour but when i go to open it after that it comes up in B+W

Re: cs6

Color tab should not matter. Still trying to find the answer!

Re: cs6

What happens when you just open a blank document and try to fill it with a color?

Re: cs6

When you open a new document, what is your Color Mode setting?

Re: cs6

Also check your color profile settings go to EDIT > COLOR SETTINGS

Re: cs6

Ok, try resetting your preferences.

How to reset Photoshop preferences (In Windows):
First, hold down all three Ctrl + Alt + Shift buttons. Now "while keeping those button held," simply open Photoshop or a file that opens with Photoshop, and as Photoshop loads, you should get a prompt asking if you would like to "delete the Photoshop settings file", Click yes

You should now have a fresh slate with all of the settings returned to their default.

On a Mac, hold Shift + Option + Command while starting Photoshop to delete the preferences.
