No, I have not tried chkdsk. I have run it in the past, I am never happy when doing so.

I have quite a number of programs installed, many of them free or shareware.  They all run just fine. But when chkdsk runs, it finds too many files that it does not like.  The options are to ignore or replace.  If I have to press ignore every time, I will be sitting at the computer for hours while chkdsk runs.  If I replace, I have found in the past that working programs become unstable.   So nowadays, I don't run it!
