Element Sizing Issues

Let's say I have a text element in a file that I sized to 4". If I drag that over to a new file and then trim and check the size it is sometimes something different. If I save it to a network drive and a collegue opens it sometimes the size is very different than the original 4". Am I missing something? We are using different versions of PS, but should that affect element sizing?

Thanks in advance,
-Joey

One thing you could check.
Are the source and target files the same resolution?
That could explain the draging over to a new file difference.

Saving to a network drive shouldn't affect the size though.

Thanks for the reply. I had thought of that and no, the source and target are the same dpi. It's very odd and more than a little frustrating.

Clutching at straws here.
Are the Pixel ratio's the same in source and target?

A thought on the network problem.
Is the font that you are using available to the other users on their machines?

Paul.
