Embarassing Question

I select the Crop tool*, make my choice and then what? How do I stop using the tool I have selected? I have tried everything I can think of but the tool is still on my cursor and I can't get rid of it. I feel very silly asking such a dumb question but I don't know what else to do. *this applies to the majority of tools. :sad: Thank you for any help. (and no snickering, please) MissDixi

Hi. Simply select any tool or preferably the pointer (Move Tool (V)). This goes for other tools as well.

Everyone has gone through this stage. Don't think a thing about it.

Hit "enter" to accept the crop, then just click one of the other tools, preferably a harmless one like the eyedropper, and the crop tool will go away.

There are other ways, as well, but since my cursor is usually in the area of those tools, that is the method I often use.

Or if you mean cancel the use (eg. created your crop selection but decided to forgo it ) - press Esc (escape) Key.
