Free Transform

When I use Free Transform, there used to be a control handle in the center of the transformed object that I could move around. For example, if I want to rotate this red object, I used to be able to select the rotation axis point by grabbing and moving the center control handle anywhere I want. This ability seems to be gone in Photoshop CC.

I have my preferences set to Legacy Transform. But whether the preferences are set to legacy or not, the center control handle does not exist. Is there any way to bring it back?

Thanks
Rich

Hi @Rich54

When you have a transform going on, make sure the options bar is open. On the far left of the options bar, that needs to be checked for the middle control handle to show up.
Just a case of Photoshop evolution creating advanced software (or maybe genetic defects? :))
It's the little things that make all the "difference:?!

it's not just ps, every serious app i have ever used (that is, that lasted more than 10 years in the market), felt they had to 'evolve', 'add' new functions, etc., all of which meant the ui changed, along with tool placement, in the name of progress. to me it's simply regression ;-)
