From photo to Aus dollar bill

Hi peeps
I'm trying to replace David Unaipon on the Aus dollar with my family members.
I'm not sure how to get the liney effect, does any have an idea how to get started?

Here is the dollar bill with David Unaipon so you can see the liney effect.


I can imagine this would be diffcult but teh lines don't necessarily have to be wavey or match the contours.
