Getting clean text

Hey everyone,

I know this is a really dumb question to ask, but I haven't been able to find an answer to it anywhere.

I was just wondering how you can get your text to keep that clean non-pixelated look when you start to have the text get big (28px and up). I've playing around with the AA but I still can't get a clean enough look.

And if you haven't noticed by the stupidity of the question, I am very new to Photoshop. ;\

Thanks

Aside from turning Anti-Aliasing right off, using the "Sharpen" setting renders the cleanest edges on type.

One thing to take note of though is that most 'amateur' fonts found on the Web just aren't suitable for high-res graphics. They're just not created cleanly enough.

Can you post an example pic of your text so we can see exactly how it's rendering? Doesn't have to be the whole image just crop out a specific problem section.

lol, I found out what my problem was...it wasn't the font that was the problem (I was using Impact). Yeah so, ummm, I had been working on it for too long, and I forgot I was really zoomed in on that part of the image. Yeah I know, I'm an idiot [saywhat]. Thanks for the help anyways.

Joel
