Grass Text Shadow, So Confused!

Hi I appreciate your response on this but in the tutorial you are able to get the bumpy texture on all the letters, not just the E. So there is something I am still missing in this tutorial. *scratches head*

Didn't see your post Hoog.

Interesting alternative, darkening the merge copy layer with an adjustment and using that below the letters instead of filling a selection with black.

I dont get how bumpy you want it both my post and clares has bumpy texture in up until you obviously changed something.

Start the tutorial again as you have obviously done something wrong if all the letters are suppose to be bumpy.

What? You have to make the outline of the grass blades yourself by using a selection tool as shown in the tutorial and of course you have to do it for each letter, not just the E. Did you do the grass blades on the E yourself?

Yes Hoogle, each letter has to be traced against the grass BG and cut out of that. The author suggests using the pen tool to go outside the border of each letter and follow the ragged outline of individual blades of grass.

Hi guys thank you so much for your input, so Clare will this give me the bumpy texture on each letter? I taught this tutorial about 3 years ago and sadly I use to know how to do this in CS4, but can't for the life of me remember. So yes, the shadow in the final product when you look at the tutorial is bumpy like the grass edge of the letters. And I was only able to get the E bumpy, all the other letters were a smooth shadow.

So I apologize for asking this again. Clare how would get the bumpy shadow on the following letters? Thanks for being patient with me, hopefully we can get this figured out! Thanks again!!

Hoogle thanks for your input as well!!

This was my last post. Please read it and let me know if I'm not clear on anything:
