Hello Steve and welcome to the forums. We'd all be delighted to take a crack at answering your first question...if only we knew what it was!? ;) \:/ :D

hi
thank you lee and Welles, i am in the process of searching through the files here, there is some great stuff.
I should be able to find out most things here it seems, so once again, thanks.
steve ;)

ahhh patrick,
your name has been mentioned to me over these few posts regarding altering a couple of my pictures, however i have been very well served by Welles, a master himself.
i look forward to the day when i know how to do things for myself, until then, i guess i need help.
many thanks
steve :righton:

Um, I'm not a master by any means. Mostly I'm an artist of many media who is in love with the Oh Wow factor of computer graphics. Now p?tr??k could end up being a real master of Photoshop if his interest and knowledge continue to expand at the rate they are presently. ;)

hi welles
i know this may sound strange, but, if it wasn't for guys such as yourself where would we be. I have a lovely camera and a good printer, but unfortunately the weather element arn't always in my favour and the pictures need to be tweeked, i know very little about PS but have used PSPro in the past to minimise my photo's and do some slight light /shade work, but doing what you did is totally beyond me, how is the average user supposed to even know what he can do with PS, let alone do it.
It is remarkable program, and only by using it, and playing around will one ever learn, but unless you write down your every move, will one remember what one did.
once again many thanks for your help
steve ;)

Oh, well thanks stevannie and Welles for the nice comments. ;\

:bustagut: Me too...sorta. It seems I've tried everything except 3D stuff, which is very fasinating but I've never spent the time learning a 3D app. I sorta dabble in video editing, compositing, some animating, DVD authoring, sound FX, web design, Flash, and oh duh, Photoshop. Oh, and a little Oh Wow factor graphics pc gaming too. ;)

hi moth
seen a few of your answers and help in other posts on this site, sure pleased to have help like you around.
many thanks
steve ;)

Hello, how 'bout postin' sumthin and show us what you do. because you may be doing something that we can use as well. We all have a smidgin of something that can be shared by all. Hope you like it here as much as I do.

hi ronmatt
as a fairly new user to PS i dont really do anything, all i want to be able to do is take my photos with my beloved camera, should something be wrong, or maybe i fancy something different, then i just want the knowledge to be able to do it.
i only do what i have seen here and elsewhere, but i will post a few photos later after i have had a play with them.
steve

cool. I'm sure that many here can be of real help to you. I probably can't as I'm an illustrator and not much of a photographer with my mere 3.2 mp Minolta d'image. So I guess I'll be learning from you.

hi again
thats a smart camera, i have just bought a canon 350d, 8.2m pixels, an excellent lens and a sturdy tripod, all i need now is a good memory.
If you go to my next post entitled 'my first question' you will see the help i have received already from members regarding 'forgetting to alter the white balance'.
cheers
steve

Hi Stevannie,

As I'm sure you've already discovered the regulars on this board are incredibly helpful and nice folk as well. Welcome aboard.

Whoa wait a minute, I love love my d'image.? I haven't found anything "mear" about it. In fact the folded lens is a giant leap ahead in technology.? Glad to know of another user.? I'd love to see some shots of yours- incidentally,? IN my humble opinion,? Illustrators make fabulous photographers.?

BTW - Welcome Stevannie and Aaron - pull up a chair and make yourself at home here.

Joy; I really didn't mean 'mere' as mere. This little baby is enough for me. I just use it to take snaps of the family and textures for PS. (But people tend to stare when I'm focusing in on a rusty old machine in a junk yard, or some pealing paint on an old barn). But I like it. If you're familiar with my style of illustration, I can't imagine how a camera could aid me though or how I could translate it into photography. Most things I illustrate don't exist in the known universe.
