I'm Chase, a novice photoshop user. A lot of my experience comes from making adds for the local high school yearbook, although I also dabble in forum signature creation. (Better at the former but not by much). I'm really hoping to improve my photoshop skills by reading tutorials and critiques done by more experienced users. Gotta say I'm pretty excited about expanding the possibilities of what I can do using photoshop. Here are some samples of what I've made recently.

Hi Chase and welcome to the forum. You have some nice work there, thanks for sharing! Ahhhh...the possibilities of Photoshop are endless. I learn something new almost everyday! Hope to see you around.

Hi Chase -

Welcome to PSG. You have done some very, very nice work, especially considering that you consider yourself a newbie. Guess what: I think you are being much too modest!

In fact, I think you have unwittingly solved a "how-do-you-do-this" type of problem that was posted here about a week or two ago, ie, the three images in the first post of this thread:
https://www.photoshopgurus.com/foru...help-me-figure-out-please.html#post1533690663 .

Unfortunately, no one came up with a good (ie, non-manual) method to make all the closely spaced parallel lines, each having a more-or-less random length and starting position, with a dot at one end of each line.

However, you have used exactly the same effect in the 2nd image you posted, ie, right before you did the polar-to-rectangular conversion. If you could drop in on that thread and tell us how you did it, I'm sure a bunch of people would be interested.

Best regards, and thanks again for joining PSG.

I'll see what I can do, but of course you're interested in the one I did the longest ago haha. This may take some time.

Also thanks for the compliment! I just don't consider myself more than a newbie because I've only semi-perfected a few techniques, examples of which you see above. Currently I'm working on texture mapping, that's a real challenge haha.
