I've a question, while working with imageready slices, how can i keep one table flexible for text? I'm trying but somehow when i paste the text it disturbs the slices of adjacent tables. what i'm doing wrong.

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum musto! :)

Very nice site design! :righton:

Your question is out of my league. But, rest assured, I'm sure that someone, who knows about these 'tables' should be by soon, to help you out. We have a good number of web designers in this community. ;)

welcome Musto....... to answer your question you need to have an expandable section in your table I can't remember where it is now but I did a pdf you can download and read
you will have to do a search for the thread - if I have time later I will look for you

Hi Musto, welcome to the community. Hope you enjoy your stay.

As Sue mentioned... to create an expandable text section within a page design, you need to do a layout that will allow for the table to expand downward without pulling apart any images surrounding your text area.

This usually means either having images or images sections be saved as larger whole pieces, or creating a specially designed table layout.

For best control/freedom in a page layout... use a 'master table'. Inside of this are just a few TD cells, containing nested tables where the different parts of the page will be stored.

In the case of the band site you linked to... that would be a basic layout of 2 rows and 3 columns. Top row containing only the header images/info. This topmost row would "span" 3 columns.
2nd row contains the 3 TD columns. Left one for your Nav links, middle one for your textual content, and 3rd one for the extra images/special info.

Get what i mean here?

Welcome to PSG too, Musto...

Mark, don't you think that it could be the subject of a good tutorial, provided that image ready is up to the task that you describe?

Still facing same problem!

Thanks so much for the warm welcome and for a very detaild reply by the Keeper.
but nothing is working for me :( . still facing the problem. If i keep image area large then i'm having problem to decrease its size in height for the pages with small text.
The only thing which worked was i merged some cells, inserted some tables and inserted the images. then there was no problem with adjucent cells or increasing or decreasing size of text area. but i think that is not the right method. :{

Mark, its a very good idea for tutorial. please....

thanx again.

Hello and welcome... Musto

I came across a tutorial earlier today that may be help to you with the sliced images & table resizing trouble.

This tutorial deals with only one table that utilizes sliced images in its construction. It shows you how to have the cell located at the center of the table expand when text & images are added without disrupting the outer cells where the image slices are located. The tutorial is not difficult and may give you the insight you need to get your sliced image table to work the way you want.

I got a lot out of this tutorial and learned something new & useful for web creation work.
