Hi, as am trying to give a gradient to one of the shapes. But somehow the outline of the shape is still showing. How to fix it? Please check the attached screenshot and the PSD. Thank you !!

Hi Balavalli

Very simply, the mask you used is not going to 100% black. The RGB value only goes down to 35 instead of zero.

Hope that helps

John Wheeler

Thank you. Can you explain it more kindly? Also how to fix it ?? Thank you !!

Hi Balavalli,
In addition to modifying the direction you were already taking, you can also create a gradient directly without a Layer Mask using the Gradient Tool. Here is the Adobe help file that explains in some detail how to use this tool from using basic presets to creating your own custom gradient:

Yes! Thanks john!

Follow John's link and learn how to properly use the Gradient Tool.

To further explain what John means, you would have a selection like this made with any of the selection tools or the Pen Tool.

Choose the right color and use your Gradient Tool to pull a linear gradient from the top while holding the shift key.....

When you have it like you want it, just hit Cmd/Cntrl + D to deselect.
