See, I didn't really translate: I merely distilled the essence out of the text. The writer has included lots of shortcuts that are given consistently written between straight brackets.

calque means layer

d?grad? means gradient

conserver means keep, save

haut means top (of the doc)

bas means bottom (of the doc)

supprimer means delete

blanc means white

hey...why not try to distill the meaning of that second tut?

I'm willing to help when you're stuck.

Distilling is fabulous: I even distill meanings from Russian or Spanish tuts this way. (if there are some shortcuts, and if possible, a result that shows where I'm heading for)
