Help With a Design Studio Name?

Hey everyone,
So I want to change the name of my small design studio from my name (Dalton Davis Design) to something more brand able and not as boring. I want my design studio website to be very web 2.0 and very minimalistic, otherwise, very user interface typed of graphics and patterns.

I was brainstorming some ideas:

1. Bit Box Design
2. D Squared Design (trying to stay away from Ds)
3. Spine Design (eh)
4. Invertd Design or Inverted Design

Its been a rough day. If you have any completely new names tell me :)

Hi Dalton, I'm not good with names, but I looked up the ones you listed and 3 of them are in use and have websites. Spine Design does not, but I'm wondering what it means. It wouldn't get my attention as a design business, not off the bat.

What kind of designing do you do?
 
I like Spine Design. It rolls off the tongue.

Sivad
Control Alt Z Design

I feel like Design is too over-used in names, but maybe that's just me.

Or what about simply D[SUP]3[/SUP]? Then you could elaborate somewhere what the 3 Ds stand for.
I have no idea, just throwing out thoughts!

You might want to read this article online that I just came across that lists some criteria that would be good for someone like you: http://www.graphicdesignblender.com/help-me-name-my-design-business-tips-on-naming-yours

It basically says that you should list out criteria for what you'd like in a name, and then just start writing out words freely on paper and try to combine any that stand out to you and that fit your criteria. Give it a read, and hope it helps :)
 
D_zine?

I like Control Alt Z. Has a great ring, but it might seem a bit like "Oops Design!" Now there's a name. Who would think of that? Who would think of "Google?" :bustagut:

I like spine design as well. Although im really not thrilled about it. I dont know, ill take out some paper and write down things. I also would like to stay away from Ds. But if there is one that hits me hard then ill end up using it. I do like D Cubed. Or something like that. I'll gladly take more submissions though! :)
 
Uh huh. Just remember, it is difficult to some up with anything new under the sun, so I suggest you google whatever you choose before you settle on it.

Can you explain to me what Spine has to do with design? And if it works, how about Spinal Design. Brainstorming. Get together with some friends and a few beers (or whatever you're into) and toss it around.
 
Are you looking to base your wensite on your studio name or your studio name on your website lol.

Without seeing your work or proposals for your logo then it is hard to think of a name for you.

When you say minimalistic how minimalistic are we talking. I am a big fan of modern bright bold colours mixed with very minimalistic designs.
But dont really feel my name represents that in fact my name represents nothing lol


Anyway after a Day like I have had today you can probably buy my company name and website of me if you like lol I give up.

Of course I am joking lol
 
I was thinking like apple typed minimalism. Very GUI based. Look at some iPhone apps out. Like that kinda minimalistic. But I was gona think of a brand new name then start a better site up. Not a blog like I have now.
