Here's my most recent photoshop I did of a friend on my last photoadventure.

Full size here http://imgur.com/LNnjBxJ Followed this tutorial http://abduzeedo.com/hexagon-bokeh-effect-photoshop and then overlayed it on my image. Let me know what you think! :)

It's a very interesting and novel effect, and the end result, particularly, the colors scheme used, is certainly very pleasing to the eye.

However, if I may ask, of all the thousands of possible other things you could have done to that photo, why did you select that particular effect? Does it have any particular emotional connotations or symbolism to you or the subject? Was it the novelty factor? Do you like the way it steers the viewer's eye towards the subject? Does it have any other compositional or graphic design benefit, etc.?

T

PS - In case you were wondering / suspicious, yes, my question is a thinly veiled attempt to get someone, anyone interested in a thread I started ( http://www.photoshopgurus.com/forum...ou-favor-certain-looks-editing-decisions.html ), but to which (sniff, sniff) not one single person has responded. LOL.

Haha oh man you are deep.. I will do my best to answer these life altering questions :)

I mainly attempted this effect because I wanted to learn something new and I wanted to give it more of an eye-popping look. My general light changes are getting a bit old so I wanted to jazz it up. The subject is basically a cute girl I like, so I guess that's the connection lol. I did delete the middle part so that the subject could be viewed a little more easily.

I will now make my way to your thread

Hi Savage -

I just saw your response (and Clare's) here and in the other thread.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

I'll respond later this afternoon.

Cheers,

Tom
