Hi all

I just have a quick question and i would appreciate if someone can help

How big is the digital designing market? To be exact, anybody who knows how to make nice digital drawings of basically anything...

I have a unique innovative project i am working on for an online business and this would help me out to firstly determine how big the market will really be.

Looking forward to your replies

Thank you
Aris

I am not aware of any surveys coming up with the size of digital marketing but if you search digital marketing you'll come up with many websites I would say X that by 10000 you might be close

The market is relatively massive.

The best rule of thumb I can add here is, "You get what you pay for!". Assess the desired success of your project/business and allocate a generous budget for design.

im not searching for digital marketing :P you probably misunderstood ... read my post one more time please:P

Answered what I read, no misunderstanding... The question is far to broad for exact quotes

Oh, You're one of those "power to the artists" fanatics lol.... Nothing wrong with that, good luck with your intentions

There are literally thousands of Design Galleries, Portfolio sites, Resume sites, classifieds, directories (including online competitions), and job boards.

You would be in some serious competition with other well established sites. Hope you have a tremendous idea that willl set you apart from the rest!

If the case is as Sam states, I'll get in line:mrgreen:

haha :P no not really to be honest... not even good in drawing myself .. i just see a potentially great opportunity here and trying to make the most out of it :P I have another 2 businesses completely irrelevant

Artists will never unite! It's in our make up, it's why we are artists! Heck, we can't agree on much of anything around here!

I say it's blue..........iDad says it's Azure! Go figure!

It's all relative in a blues kind of way:mrgreen:

well .. theres no real way for me to get the info i want throwing hints around.... can any of you discuss privately ? would appreciate it

The "digital design" industry is extremely broad and includes many branches. I doubt the whole industry would be interested any one particular product or service. For example, to me, the phrase, "digital design", includes things like the preparation of architectural drawings, the layout of (electronic) printed circuit boards, mechanical drawings using AutoCAD, logo design, web page layout and design, design of consumer product packaging, 3D renders, etc.

So, I'm worried that if you somehow get an estimate of the size of the entire industry, it will be so large that it will not apply to your particular concept and will mislead you into being too optimistic about the success of your particular idea.

Perhaps you could give a general description of your concept (without giving away any secrets), and we could come up with a better way to estimate the market size.

LOL ... I downloaded this thread a bit after noon (EST), grabbed a bite to eat, and replied without refreshing the page, only to find 15 posts in that hour. The OP has focused his description since his original post, but it's still quite general. I'm not an expert in marketing to artists, so I won't be taking the OP's offer to discuss matters privately, but perhaps someone else will be able to help you.

Cheers,

Tom M

Noted. thank you for your reply

hmmm... the range of audience going to be targeted will be very broad .. but initially it will be anyone and everyone that can draw nice pictures on any software they want , regarding nature for example..... jellybean apocalypse picture or something :P

The everyday designs people sit down when bored and make them on photoshop or paint.

Even if you have a large target group, a make-or-break, overwhelmingly important factor will be the actual appeal of your product, and hence market penetration. To estimate this, you should do things like conduct some focus groups, send out evaluation copies to selected members of the target market (under an NDA), etc.
