I'm looking to achieve a similar effect to this image. Does anyone have any ideas on how to achieve it?1000025296.jpg

  • Create a new file. Set the foreground and background colors to black and pink (or whatever you like).
  • Fill the base layer with the darker (black) color.
  • Duplicate the layer. Go to Filter>Sketch>Halftone Pattern.
  • Use the settings shown, but you can experiment with them to vary the effect.

You should now have this:

  • Go to Filter>Brush Strokes>Spatter
  • Set Spray Radius=17 and Smoothness=10. You can experiment with these settings.
  • You get this:

  • Go to Edit>Transform>Warp.
  • Distort the image to your taste.
  • I first distorted the top part of the image in an upward direction and accepted the change. Then I took a second pass and distorted the bottom of the image in a downward direction.
  • Make as many "warp" passes as you like. You can also experiment with the Liquify filter for a similar effect.
  • Something like this:

  • Lastly, I masked away a few of the pink lines to create a double-sized gap of black, similar to your example.
