Hi there
I want to WARP/CURVE just the lower section of some text like the image provided.
I dont want the top to move and want it to stay horizontal.
I cant find an option using
LAYER>TYPE>WARP TEXT

Any ideas?
thanks

rasterize text ,copy lower half >warp as separate layer

actually duplicate layer first

mind you this was just a test version to help you see could be much better

This is an interesting question.

I think there must be a way to do it while keeping the text editable. I know it can be done in Illustrator, but I don't know how to do it in Photoshop.

I am going to search around now. If I find anything I will post it here.

Pretty easy to do actually, write out your text and while still in cursor mode look at the top and click on the "Create Warped Text" tool, then select "Shell Lower" and play with the settings, if you was to try and do it after Rasterizing with the warp tool you would have a problem trying to keep it nicely uniform imho...

Try using the "Shell Bottom", you may need to play with the settings a little bit....

I been playing with Camtasia the last few days, i could make a video tutorial if you guys want...

Maybe it is the font I am using or something... but when I use a lot of negative bend on Shell Lower the top of the letters does get warped slightly.... and it doesn't work that well with longer words.

Just cant see the problem. Type your text, leave the edit mode. Go to Free Transform and increase the height of the text by 2-3 times. Now go to Edit->Transform->Warp. Choose Arc Lower from the drop down list. You'll see warp grid. Grab the handle at the bottom of the grid and push it upwards to change the side the arc. Tweak the height of the text again if need be.

The key moment here: don't warp text in edit mode, leave the mode and warp text as any other layer.
