How do I make claw marks in metal effect?

Hello.

I am new here. I have about 1½ years of Photoshop experience, which I mostly use when making logos for groups, websites etc.


I play this game called Live For Speed, which is an online Racing car game. In that game, it is possible to make your own "skins" or liveries for your cars, and that is what I'm currently working on.

What I need is a pretty basic tutorial, on how to make claw marks. I use Photoshop CS3 Extended.


These are pictures from the game, with my current claw marks, I just don't think they look nice enough.

I just checked that out, but sadly, it is not what I seek.

What I want, is to be able to make it myself, that's what I love about photoshopping, being able to edit and customize almost every little detail to my liking, instead of just copy-pasting.
