Hey folks. My first post. I'm quite familiar with PS, but for the life of me cannot figure out how this is done. What I'm speaking of specifically, is the swirly, random, stretched and extruded background, behind the text and logo, in this image. Is there more than PS going on? Searching the web has not helped, because the context is too random. "Swirly thing..."?

Any help is appreciated!

Hey Xen,

More than likely the "swirly" 3D abstract was borrowed from the net. I have seen it before although I can't find it right now. It was probably originally created in a 3D program like C4D.

I will add that Photoshop is quite capable of some pretty impressive 3D abstract. Googy search Photoshop 3D abstract tutorials.

Do a Googy image search on Abstract 3D. You might can find the same abstract used in your example.

Ok, this is kind of a wild shot. But I'm seeing what looks like a flower with perhaps a gradient applied to it. I keep thinking a snap-dragon or crocus, but now i'm kinda talking out of my butt.

Sorry about the out of order responses Xen. I combined the two threads and posts were placed in order by time, hence the confusion. I figured this would be better than having two threads going at once. Post 4 is in response to 8lackie, post 3, and post 5 is in response to IamSam, post 2.
