How to create skin texture...

I've taken some pictures with the wrong exposure and I have faces that are blown out. I really want to use these photos, and I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to create real looking skin. Every method that I've tried has left me with a "painted look". I've even tried to "borrow" texture from other people's faces - anything so that it doesn't look painted.

you're out of luck if you have white parts in the faces, no details dude, thats the prob
