How to design letter S like following image with sharp edges and in vector

Hello everyone,

I'm not sure this is right section to put my qsn , but please correct me if I'm wrong.

My question is I want to design letter S like following image with sharp edges and in vector, So that I will not loose quality if it made into any big size.


Im a newbie and just trying to start with CS6, I've installed it so I'm looking forward with detailed and perfect method to follow to draw my "S"

Ok, I'll try to explain ONE way of doing this.........

Take the original and add guide lines to mark where you want your line to go. I won't make the entire S but I will show you how to make the lines.

Select the LINE TOOL from shapes.

Choose a color for the line.

Choose a width for the line.

Create your line, or lines when following the guide lines from the original. After you make 3 lines, they will be on separate layers, you can merge these if you choose, I would leave them separated so I could move them individually later. You can manip these shapes using Cmd/Cntrl + T.

Next choose the RECTANGLE TOOL form shapes.

Select SUBTRACT FRONT SHAPE from the Path Operations Icon drop down menu in the toolbar.

This is important. Cmd/Cntrl + click the shape layer thumbnail to select. You should have marching ants going around your shape(s). Using the Rectangle tool, create a rectangle on the areas you want to remove. (this would be where your guidelnes will come into play from the first step!) As soon as you release the mouse, the area(s) you selected should disappear. Cmd/Cntrl + D to deselect.

You will notice that the old paths will be visible. Go to paths in your layers panel and click anywhere outside the path layer and this will deselect the paths.

Your shape line(s) should be nicely trimmed. You should be done.

but unfortunnately I cant Take the original as base thing and carry on coz tht I just designed for explanatory purpose without any standard mathematics.

I mean to say that I cant take the original "S" which I posted to create lines on that with line tool , coz its just not a standard "S" i mean the angels wise, or the space between upper part of it and lower part of it...

I need a procedure which is independent of the "S" I posted...

Hope u got me :)

I demonstrated the way to create vector (shape) lines and how to edit them. I do not understand what I need to do to help you any further.

You can control the angles using...

IamSam thank you for ur help and time, its getting really helpful :) and btw is it better to use illustrator for this kind ???
 
There's no question Illustrator would be better, but you original post stated you were using Ps CS6 and not Illustrator.

You can easily accomplish this, with vector shapes, in Photoshop. I just think there is a communication gap here and that I'm (me) not understanding exactly what your needing. I wish I could have been better help for you in this matter. Good luck!
