Im using the shape tools, and with the example im showing, the arrow has pixelated edges but the rectangle has crisp clean lines.
How do I get this to work for all shape tools etc? I have this problem with almost anything I try to create unless they are straight lines like the rectangle but I want to use other shapes as well.

Hello and welcome to the forum.

What size documents are you working with? What tool are you using to create the arrow? Describe the step by step technique of how you created the arrow.

This is a large document: 5000px x 5000px - 67% Zoom

This is a small document: 500px x 500px - 300% Zoom

Aliasing is much more evident in smaller documents.

I'm using a smaller document because of the website the images will be used on, usually 500px X 100px
I mostly use the custom tool shapes.

This is your problem. You need to work on larger documents and then reduce their size using "Image Size" and experimenting with which "resample" setting works best for you.

You will always get some aliasing on diagonal or curved lines when reducing an image. This is the 5000px x 5000px set reduced down to 500px x 500px using "images size" and a resample setting of Bicubic Sharper (reduction).

On logos you can turn the logo black and white, gaussian blur it up to 10% and then use curves to sharpen it back up.
