Filter > Render > Lighting effects > nothing shows up.

How to operate Lighting effects?

Convert to 8 bit instead of 16 bit via Image/Mode/RGB/8 bit. Did it for me. I
In 16 bit mode, the option is greyed out.

Hello. Please explain further. Are you saying that the filter option is greyed out so nothing happens? Or are you saying that the option is available, but when clicked, nothing happens? If the latter, what layer do you have selected when trying to apply lighting effects filter?
