Hello all,

I'm a motion graphic designer and for a job I need to paint a portrait of michael jackson and record the progress as a movie.

What I need is a image of only my canvas every 4 seconds or something. Image can be just a simple jpg.

I was looking a action sequence but I cant find a way to make the 'save as' action to make the filename unique to the previous one.

I would like to have a map with images in it running from 0001.jpg, 0002jpg, 0003.jpg,... and each frame is a save as from my canvas every few seconds.

does anyone have an idea how i can achieve this..

(what i dont need is a screen capture program that captures my desktop as a movie)

i DON'T need a screenrecorder :). I'm looking for a way to do the same thing in photoshop and only save the actual canvas..

just save each image as a separate layer as you create them?

as you are painting save the image every few minutes or however long your progress takes to get to the next saving point, save that point as a separate layer, duplicate it and start adding to the next layer. repeat those steps as necessary, until you get to the end. but you re a motion graphic designer, so you must be asking something I do not understand

well actually i was thinking of a "action" i could record and just run it every few seconds. But is there a way to make a recorded action that saves as a unique filename every action, so no overwriting the previous file..

there is a guy here really good with actions, Paul MR (i think is his name, maybe minus the space) direct the question to him and point him to this thread via PM, he may have an idea for you
