Hi guys,

I want to use the image of a flag as the color fill for my company's logo. How do I go about this? I have the most recent Adobe Illustrator Trial version.

I don't know what the logo looks like but one possible solution is to turn the flag into a pattern. Then use the pattern for fill.

Theres like 400 ways to do this. Here is one simple way:

Get your logo open in Illustrator(must be a vector image)
Make a copy (best way is to select it, then press ctrl-c, then ctrl-f)
Place your image in the document, make sure your logo is on a layer ABOVE the image
Select the logo copy, hold shift, and click the image(this selects both items)
Right click, and click "Make Clipping Mask"

Bam! You have it.

The reason you copied the logo, was that because whenever you make a clipping mask, the original vector item gets "absorbed" into the mask. Use it as a backup logo you made in the file to apply a stroke(outline) or other effects.
