I'd like to make a logo for my band in the same sort of style as the attached picture. I want the logo to be just our band name, but the writing to look like a cut in flesh with the blood dripping. I want it to be kind of cartoony looking like this picture as well. Does anyone have any tips or tutorials they could share on how I would do this? Or any advice on what I should search to learn more about.

I thought this might be fun so I took these.....

I did this to see how hard it might be, it was fairly involved. It's not so cartoony yet but it's a WIP.
I might try to spell out some words now.

(Don't get me started on anatomical accuracy....I, of all people, should know better!)
 
Not showing off..........I just have never tried anything like this and I thought I could turn it into a tutorial.......I thought wrongly.
