I would like to improve the skin and other contour of a human. How to make a good skin perfections. What tools should I use and what is the prof. way?

Thanks in advance

First use the Spot Healing Tool to get rid of blemishes on the skin. Use Burn or Dodge tool to increase or decrease shadows (turn the opacity right down or it will look horrible).

But my very favorite trick for perfect skin? After you've gotten rid of all the specific spot problems, duplicate the layer and apply a Surface Blur. Apply a layer mask to the whole blurred layer and then "paint in" the surface blur on just the skin, avoiding eyes, hair, or anything other than the actual skin.

Techniques for changing the body contours will have to come from someone else. I have never done it. :)

Good luck.

Thank you Sierraccr,

I tried it the skin correction and I am loving it, didn't know that it's so easy. The photo looks really good now.

Dodging and burning can help the contour of the body just make sure if you are painting using a white brush for dodging and a black brush for burning you use low opacities or use the actual dodge and burn tools on the layer. also maybe swap the blending mode from overlay to softlight depending on skin tones 1 or the other will look slightly better.

the rest of body manipulation is down to liquify puppet warp and pinch filters along with free transform every image is different so wont explain which is best without an image.

Thanks ibclare and Hoogle!

The grey overlay is pretty effective. liquify puppet warp seems to be very good for body manipulation, need to test it and learn it more. Pinch filters seems to be very easy. Dodging and burning, love it!

Glad you're enjoying yourself. Now just post some before and afters. (as long as they aren't x-rated that is)

I tried these suggestions on my random personal photos, nothing really to show, just checked how it works. I haven't got much time right now to edit and make fantastic photos with Photoshop, I am planning to make a personal web design project in next month, where I really need a good realistic photo editing skills(for my photos). I may post something when I complete the project or at least a photo...
