I'm sorry if this is something readily known, but I did a quick search and didn't find anything.

I want to remove a light pole from an image, but the light pole is in front of a brick building. Any content aware tools make the newly generated bricks misalign with the old ones and it just looks terrible. I've started to try to replace each brick by hand, but it's taking forever and I'm not sure how it'll end up looking.

Can anyone offer me some help?

Also, I need help removing some of the shadows from the image without ruining the bricks under the shadows. If that's even possible.

You can fix that pretty easy with a little care. Without going into a huge explanation, use your pen tool. Draw an outline around the areas you need to repair. Then with your path select tool, select the outline and move it to an area that matches up pretty well to your repair. Right click on the selection and Make Selection. Then Ctrl C making a copy of that area. Then Ctrl V to paste it. Take your regular selection tool and slide it in place. This is not perfect, but you get the idea I hope. Use your clone tool also to help you.

Thanks! It seems to be a much easier way to do things. It's something new to me, so it'll take awhile to get used to it, but it seems to do a better job. So thank you very much!
