I tried looking up youtube and it didn't help me.

When I refine my edges it always goes to a big space in the pic I don't want refined. It gets me frustrated because usually I already have a large portion of the picture refined. Can someone help me out???

Thanks in advanced.

please post a picture of what you mean or explain in a little bit more detail i am a little lost in what's going on:)

00:36 into the video if u pay attention to the bottom left of the bunny's edge there is an extra unwanted space. How did he drag it so it fits the edges smoothly?

At 36 seconds in he has not done refine edge yet, he just used the quick selection tool to make a selection. Are you talking about the extra selected pixels when using quick select?

Yes I am talking about the quick selection tool. It seems like every time I try to refine or "highlight" the edges i want with this tool it keeps highlighting extra of the pics I don't want refined or highlighted. For example I just want my body cut off instead it highlights all of the left side of the pic along with my body.

Sorry if I confuse u I am a newbie

If you select something that you did not want to be part of the selection, hold down the Alt key (Windows) or Option key (Mac) on your keyboard and paint over the unwanted area to subtract it from your selection.

You can also switch to any of the other selection tools or marquee tools and hold the same key to subtract from the selection.

I think you need to inverse your section before refining.. guessing here

^^^ How did the guy on the youtube does his? I tried the select inverse option and it didn't really help me at all.

@ Gauassin thx I'll try that in a little bit.
