Ive had to take a picture of myself for a modelling site, but it has to look professional. Ive done one and I aint doing another, thing is they keep rejecting it because of the lighting, as there was a window in the room I took the picture. Can anyone give me any advice to make it look a bit more professional and sort the lighting out a bit
 
In order for you to get some advice from anybody you'll need to post a picture to know what you're working with
 
why? are you talking nudity or something?
 
I prefer to stay away from that stuff but somebody here may be interested.

err... have you thought about using a real photographer instead of trying to do it yourself? As you seem to be finding out, there is more to photography than pushing a button and then trying to fix the resulting problems after the fact in PS. Even with the best Photoshop technique, the end result will always be better if you start with good photographic technique.
