Images are Saved with a Larger File Size Than "Save for Web" Shows

Hi,

I did some search on the forum but couldn't find an answer to this. I am trying to optimize some images for web to have a smaller file size. I am using "Save for Web" feature, and every time I try to save a file, the actual file output size is a lot bigger than the size it shows on the "Save for Web" dialog.

For example, I have a 607 bytes .gif, when I open "Save for Web" it shows 207 bytes for 16-colors but when I save it the output file is 1.22 kb.

am I doing something wrong?

Thanks for the help,

Nail

It should be- give or take a few bytes but not that much.... tho I never tried the Trial version... may have something to do with it.

Hang on, lets see what the others say... should be checking in by now....

I've noticed the same thing. I've got small gif file, only 2 colors, 'Save for Web and Devices' shows 50 bytes as a file size but the output file is 1.14 kb! So this is huge difference. The same problem happens when I'm saving another slices of my web layout.

I've got full CS 5 Extended version.

Does anybody know what's going on?

Thanks for any help
