Other than the affect on Photoshop and the digital arts industry and keeping in line with our seemingly ongoing discussion about AI's questionable influence, I found this video extremely interesting.

A bit long and monotone............but hang in there, it's worth a listen!

I want to add that like so many who believe that AI in Ps is a great thing, which it can be, I feel it's a detriment to the graphic arts industry because it makes it so anyone can produce great edits without any knowledge of Ps and Ps procedures and techniques. Along those same lines, I'm a hypocrite because I thought that Google AI Overview was the best thing to happen to the internet!! It saved me the time and effort of going through paid sponsored content and multiple websites in order to get a simple answer. I've even posted screenshots of AI Overview here on this forum!

Not to mention using one of the big AI chat's, I now feel I may be as contributing to the downfall of the internet just like I was thinking that AI (in general and in Ps) would or could be the downfall of so many careers in the art industry and others.

I found it very worthwhile and watched the entire video.
It became very clear why AI bots will end up eating themselves on the present path so something will have to give. Not clear its going to change though to be sustainable.

Fascinating review and I didn’t mind the somewhat flat narration.

I, for one, suffer from several health issues and continued vulnerabilities. The AI Overview that Google offers has been a great resource for me when searching for signs & symptoms, diagnoses summaries, relief, and clinical outcomes for some remedies. I do caution that I use these for discussions with my doctors who are actually quite happy to get into the details with me. I often joke that my doctors are my single largest social group!

But since I’m a Boomer, and a proud member of the Kick-the-Tires generation, I still use the old Rule of Three I learned long ago – no matter what I read in the Google overview, I look for at least 3 resources to back up any summaries or data points. Then again, not many will do that as Google AI and such become more prominent. That’s the risk.

What these chatbots (to use a generic term) do is to provide speed and convenience - the Holy Grail for consumers. And highly addictive. This is what helped companies like Amazon grow by providing one button access to a greater range of goods, services, and competitive prices.

Will AI kill the internet? Heck, even radio is still around. What will continue to shape it all will be how it all can be monetized – how to regulate it and how to profit from it will be the paths for further development.
