Invalid ICC profile from ACR 7.3

Hi - Using CS6 (64bit) and converting an RGB image to Gray Gamma 2.2 in ACR 7.3 - when I then try to openthe converted tif image - I get the following message "The embedded ICC profile cannot be used because the ICC profile is invalid. Ignoring the profile". Metadata shows the color mode as RGB and Color Profile as Gray Gamma 2.2

This (invalid ICC profile) was never a problem in CS3, nor is it a problem with images previously converted to grayscale with ACR 4.6

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
