is everyone okay with my new avatar in the feelings sense? or do you think i should pipe it down a little, i don't want people getting upset by it and not asking me to change it.

so if you have any genuine issue with my avatar, please don't hesitate to post a line. and if a majority of people i talk to want it changed i'll change it.
 
well, i have a friend, who thinks she's the be all and end all in photoshop and when i looked at her portfolio, it said ******** studios when it's blatantly just her and her computer, and no offence, she is kinda crap XD and it's generally digging at people. who put studios and designs after their nameswhen it doesn't need to be there and they think they are all amazing XD
 
XD hey hoogle i'm failry sure "hoogleman studios" has a right to be "hoogleman studios" judging by the sound quality of your tutes ;)

FYI:
Studios: More than one person in more than one computing studio
Productions: When you produce the work you post, duuh!
Design: when the WHOLE THING is designed by hand, no images from the internet but on to a background.
Manipulations: When you get images (or brushes) from the internet, or from a camera and add it to a background image (what most of us do)
that's my idea of those words, no one has to change anything apart from me and my avatar if you all want me to.
 
Lucky or not for me but i don't understand idea and what it's all about :) So i obviously don't mind your avatar. Actually intresting idea for self advertisment.
 
OK so we are clear this is what you mean then I have a Hoogle Productions logo as an intro to 1 of my youtube channels and just watermarked an image saying Hoogle Designs (admittedly just to increase the size of my water mark.
Only thing I disagree with is your studio definition Walt disney Studios started as 1 man but lets not get into the idea that he stole the design of MIckey Mouse that ultimately turned disney into what it is today.
Productions can be anything but usually live shows or film related
A design is a design if done by hand or on a computer
a manipulation can be anything from as long as the product has at least 1 edit to it from original
 
I agree with you in part, however ambition doesn't hurt.
When GoMedia started out, they were just two guys in a bedroom, yet on their website it showed that they had offices in the US & in Africa.

When clients looked at their site, they appeared much bigger than they were - now look at their client list ;-)
 
well heck, I can't exactly follow the stream of consciousness Zee, but it seems like you're getting down on Zeealex again which pisses me off if it's true, so say it isn't so!

On the other hand, I like the concept of the typewriter font in white on black and the torn paper look. Very nice.

As for your definitions of arteests in varying forms, I think they're a bit inflexible. For instance I don't see any reason to say that someone who uses internet photos to put together an intricate design is not a designer. But that's IMHO. XOX
 
XD i'm not getting down on myself clare :P it's a sarcastic one, aimed at my "friend" who is a total ***** XD i'm gonna change the text me thinks, causing a lot of confusion as such. and hey, i'm a very restricted person, but life's what you make it.
 
So if i understand now right, that it's all about adding to some works text or watermark like blablabla production/studio etc.?
If it's so then i wouldn't poke that with 10 foot stick.

Anyway, personally i don't feel that i have authority to judge someone for ambition etc. blablabla ... and i don't have idea why i'm saying all that :)

I don't see anything wrong with it. An AVATAR should be what you want it to be.... represent you or an idea in your head.

I don't find it offensive, either.

I have a comment Zeealex. Of course I agree with the Liz, your avatar is your avatar, regardless of what anyone else thinks. I just change mine when I feel like it and no one has ever said anything -- oh wait, one person asked me to change one cuz he found it kinda freaky, lol; no names!

What I liked about the avatar in question was the whole style; I just found the message confusing. I thought it was more personal than the lion. :mrgreen:
