hi, i was just wondering if anyone else has had this problem. all of a sudden no keyboard shortcuts work in my photoshop. its really frustrating since everything takes twice as long.

Working on the assumption that you are running a full, legal version of Photoshop. If restarting both the computer and the program doesn't work, try throwing out the Preferences. You will find them in the Library of your User. Photoshop must be turned off when you do delete the Preferences. Doing so will usually solve most problems, however you will have to remake you workspace.

It's much quicker and easier to just hold Ctrl+Shift+Alt when you start Photoshop.
On the Mac it would be Command+Option+Shift

the problem came when i deleted my preferances a few weeks back but accidently deleted another file too, wondered if that could be it? dont remember what the other file was

The folder that contains the preference file contains many other files, but deleting all of them would not have caused this issue. Btw, that's why I advice people to use ctrl+alt+shift to delete the preference file, to avoid deleting other files.

arggh still not workin its quite frustrating. I've played around with the keyboard shortuts prefs but still wont work. its odd because the tools shortcuts and stuff work just not the app menu's suh as ctrl + N
