Looking for guidance on how to even out this image, I do come across this once in awhile . Thanks.Map 170-86-S1-0015.jpg

The image is lightest on the left and then gradually darkens toward the right in a fairly smooth gradient. To fix this, you can add an opposite gradient, one that darkens on the left and then gradually does "nothing" on the right. A Levels adjustment will work here:
  • Add a Levels adjustment layer above your image.
  • In the layer mask for the Levels adjustment, apply a black & white horizontal gradient starting with white on the left and dragging across the image to black on the right (where the red arrow is pointing).
  • Now play with the Black and Midtone sliders of the Levels adjustment to even-out the image. You can see the settings I used where the yellow arrows are pointing.
  • Once the image is evened-out, you can then (as an optional step) apply another Levels adjustment as the top layer and adjust the brightness and contrast of the entire image to your taste.

In the same direction as Rich54 with additional targeted curves adjustments using the attached masks to apply to balance the lighter portions on picture left to the center and picture right.
