Hi Amanda, you need to click in the tools options bar "Sample All Layers" and then try clicking on white area again

Now it works - sorry my inattention. It is obvious.

I've updated script, it should now work with color data also, selecting only specified range of lightness values. ( it should )

EDIT: It now works as it should, and as far as I've tested it selects correct L values in RGB mode also.
