Hey evryone! :)

I was sitting her the other day foolong sriund with photoshop.
Shanging the look of my slef and som friends...
Lots and lots of fun

But I was thinking...I really aint good at this so I want to learn some more godd tips for amnipulating a photo.

Take this photo of my self here for example...
How would you guys alter that?
What tutorials or guides do I need to make myslef into a model...
No just kidding but it would be cool to be able to do it :)
Do the whole thign...take away dots, big variation in skintone, change background lightning and stuff like thet :)

Want to learn all that I can :)

Thanx! :)

Gonna have to be more specific, dood.
You just asked for artistic opinions and about 40 tutorials all at once.

hehe yea I guess I did....

But I tried it myself and I guess two things I found hard was this...

First changing the skintone...getting a realistic tan.
And a good method for selecting the hair when I want to change its color....

One more thing is that its hard to find suitable tutorials...
And with that I mean all the tutorials are made with a picture taken in a studio...
That deletes lots of steps that need to be done when its a regular partypicture or what ever...

Thanx though! :)

Getting a tan :
1)Select skin,Type CTRL+U? for the Hue/Sat dialog and play with the sliders.
2) Select skin, create new layer, fill with brown, set to color, mask out eyes, lips, etc. Try other Layer Modes, too.
3) Get some sun. It`s outside.

Hair.

1) Try the extraction tool. it works pretty well if you have good contrast.
2)Check the Channels Palette. One will have better contrast than the others. Use it to make a mask.
3) Get busy with the paint brush and a Layer Mask.

Fixing Party pics.
I generally avoid parties where? there are cameras. Not always a good idea...
Depends entirely on what is wrong with the pic.

hehe okey :p
Yea maybe thats a good idea :D:p
Kinda hard now days though :p

Was thinking mostly of the ugly effect that the flash on the camera makes.
Makes it all white and weird looking...

But thanx any way! :)

I played around with it..cleaned the skin a bit straighten the bottom lip a tad..
Extracted it using the eraser tool..(actually I masked then committed it so in fact I erased it)
That's for all the diehard maskers and eraser bashers...since the hair was a very simpilar color as the background, I tried extract and knockout but didn't like the results so I erased it as close as possible then smugged and cloned in the fly-away hair in. If you look closely the hair is not the same.
Duplicated the layer set to multiply and lowered the opacity to tan him up a little, masked out everything but his face.
I then unsharpened the extraction.
Couldn't think of what to do with the background so I simply blurred it to death and added noise.

Hope it give you some ideas.

Lasa
