Hi All,
Could anyone please help me, as when I load a pic into photoshop cs, they all look very dark?

I'm using a sony 21'' inch widescreen tft and an ati x800 xt graphic card.

is it the settings I have to change in photoshop itself or is it the settings in either my card or monitor I have to change?

Any help/tips you could offer me would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You

Sam

Welcome to the forums, Sam. Do your photographs look good in other imaging applications? Is it just Photoshop or is it possible that your camera settings need tweaking? We have other members of the forum with photo expertise and they will chime in eventually.

If it is just Photoshop, have you set up your Photoshop > Color Settings... ?

Hi Welles, yes it's just photoshop that the pictures look dark.

What would be the best colour setting please, as im new to this in photoshop, there seems to be lots of settings, and im afraid I'll mess up:)

Well I use a Mac and ColorSync so my settings won't make sense for your monitor and system but I think it is safe to start with the generally accepted Settings: U.S. Prepress Defaults.

Maybe someone else will chime in with a different point of view. My system is narrowly tuned to a workflow from my computers to my printers and it wouldn't work at all for any one else. \:]
