My university computing department gave me pre-school year homework to create three images that represent computing, explain what those images are and why they represent computing to you. The image can be a photo, a drawing or something you create yourself. I was thinking something along the lines of a motivational poster that looks more snazzy than the regular black motivational poster. But I'm open to any ideas how to do this project as I have close to zero knowledge on graphics and how to present them(I'm a programmer).

Now, I have had photoshop for quite a while, but I mostly did very simple photo editing tasks with it. So any tutorials you might have in mind I'm open to.

Thank you for any answers and suggestions in advance!

Google pictures you want. Save them. Decide how big you want your poster and open a new project of that size in photoshop . Open your pictures and place them accordingly. Add some text and you are done.

from me to you....

Hi Snupas, speaking for myself and a handful of others, we are not here to do your homework for you. We certainly do not mind helping you but you must also participate in the process. Setting you lack of graphic knowledge aside, you must have some, albeit basic, idea as to what kind of imagery best represents computing to to you. Lets start there.

What comes to mind when you visualize "computing" inside your thoughts?

Here is a PAGE full of IDEAS.

When you have a working idea of what you want the graphic to look like, we will help you create that image.

Good luck!

Oh, sorry, I didn't mean in that way. I was asking if you had any ideas for the actual presentation, image and text aside. I can only think of the motivational poster format.

I suspect that was one of the main goals of your assignment.

No problem! What are your ideas on what you want the images to be?

I have got one of the descriptions:

A source of new creative outlets. Computer technologies allow us not only to share our creativity with more people but it also introduces new outlets through which we can express ourselves. We can create and participate in new and exciting interactive media. From digital art, to social media to video games, computing has allowed me and countless others to find our passion within a computer screen.

I'm thinking of a really exciting picture that encompasses various digital art forms. Or something that shows the collaboration between an artist and the computer.

I think the image should be of an artist collaborating with the computer in some way. Something artistic. Or just an overflow of various digital art forms in one image.

My text would be:

A source of new outlets to explore. Computer technologies allow us not only to share our creativity with more people but it also introduces new outlets through which we can express ourselves. We can create and participate in new and exciting interactive media. From digital art to social media to video games, computing has allowed me and countless others to find our passion within a computer screen.
