is there anyway i can use a brush inside a font without rasterizing the layer? I dont think it is possible but would really be useful if it was.

Also what is the best way to use a brush inside a font without it coming over the edges of the text? When i used to use photoshop years ago i knew how to do this but i've forgotten..

Thanks in advance really appreciate it!

the way i do it, is get the text layer right click it's icon, press "select pixels" then start a new layer and start brushing within the selection. nothing needs to be rasterised that way and the paint stays within the selected area.

i use masking as well, where i get the brush, start a new layer, paint what i would like or draw it, and then select the text layer pixels and press the mask button on the paint layer if it's masked the wrong one, Image>Adjustments> Invert :)

that's the method i used in my sig.

hope that helped
